As one of the leading, designer brands, Prada has it's fair share of counterfeit goods.
Here's how you can spot fakes from authetic ones, and not get cheated!
- Check the Stitching of the Bag. Fake ones will obviously have messy and misaligned stitching and will often look very ugly up close. Also, check the interior of the bags as well. Many Prada products contain Prada engravings on snaps, buckles and zippers. Do check out for misspelling of the names as well.
- The logos embedded onto the bags should look like this:
- The lining of the bag should have a metal tag, saying "Prada Made in Italy". Anything else, be it the tag being in plastic or fabric, or a rephrase is a fake.
- If the bag comes with a dustbag, authentic ones would be white with the Prada logo in black. Authenticity cards will come with a small black envelope, and the card should have a serial number with the purse style printed nicely on it. However, pre-owned bags might not have these...
- The next obvious one would be the design. Obviously, if Prada has yet to release such design, it's a fake! Look out for the coloring of the purses and bags too!
- Beware of Prada bags that are sold for extremely cheap prices, even if they claim they are resellers! Check for authorized authenticity dealers, such as mypoupette.com!
